Under the hood, the Alcatel Hero is powered by a MediaTek MT6589 chipset with a quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU and PowerVR SGX544 GPU. While this setup was capable of handling everyday tasks and media consumption at the time, it was not designed for heavy multitasking or gaming. Paired with 2GB of RAM, the phone provided adequate performance for Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which was reflective of the expectations from a mid-range phone in 2014. Internal storage options of 8GB for the single SIM model and 16GB for the dual SIM model, though limited by modern standards, were expandable via a dedicated microSDHC slot.
