Under the hood, the Alcatel OT-980 runs on Android 2.1 Eclair, an early version of Google's mobile operating system. As expected with older Android versions, the interface and features are basic by today's standards, and the app ecosystem would be severely limited now due to outdated software support. With only 194MB of internal storage, users will need to rely heavily on the microSDHC card slot for media storage and app expansions.
