Performance
Under the hood, the Fire HD 8 Plus is powered by a MediaTek MT8168 chipset and a quad-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, complemented by a Mali-G52 MC1 GPU. While this hardware configuration does not compete with high-end tablets, it is sufficient for everyday tasks such as browsing, streaming, and using Amazon's vast array of services. Running on Android 9.0 (Pie) overlaid with Amazon's Fire OS 7, the interface is tailored to offer a seamless experience with Amazon's ecosystem, though it lacks Google Play services out of the box, which might be a drawback for some users. With 3GB of RAM paired with either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage (expandable via a dedicated microSDXC slot), multitasking capabilities are enhanced for an entry-level tablet.
