The iPad Mini 2 comes equipped with a 5 MP rear camera with an f/2.4 aperture and autofocus, capable of capturing decent photos and 1080p videos at 30fps. While it cannot compete with modern tablets' cameras, it suffices for basic photography needs. The 1.2 MP front camera supports FaceTime and 720p video recording, making it adequate for video calls.
