Performance and Software
At the heart of the iPad Mini is Apple’s A5 chipset, with a dual-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU and PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU. The device initially launched with iOS 6 but could be upgraded to iOS 9.3.6, ensuring users had access to newer software capabilities over time. While the 512MB RAM seems minimal today, it was fairly standard at the time of release. The iPad Mini was not designed for heavy multitasking, but it handled basic apps and tasks smoothly.
