Under the hood, the Archos 50 Oxygen is driven by the Mediatek MT6589T chipset, featuring a quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU. The device comes with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable via a dedicated microSDHC slot. The graphical performance is handled by the PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU, enabling it to manage basic gaming and media tasks. At launch, the device ran on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), which was standard for its time, providing users with access to a plethora of apps and a reasonably smooth user interface.
