Archos 50 Platinum Connectivity and Battery

Connectivity and Battery

On the connectivity front, the Archos 50 Platinum supports GSM/HSPA networks, with data speeds up to 7.2 Mbps on HSPA. It has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot capabilities and supports DLNA for sharing media across devices on a local network. Bluetooth 3.0 is onboard for wireless connectivity, and there is GPS for location tracking. Notably absent is NFC capability, which is now a standard feature in modern smartphones. The device includes a stereo FM radio and a 3.5mm headphone jack, catering to traditional media consumption needs.

The phone is powered by a removable 2000 mAh Li-Ion battery, providing reasonable standby and talk times – approximately 161 hours and 12 hours 20 minutes on 2G or 10 hours on 3G. This is sufficient for a day's moderate use but requires daily charging for more active users.
