Performance and Software
Under the hood, the ROG Phone 5 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset, built on a 5 nm process. The octa-core CPU combined with the Adreno 660 GPU ensures top-tier performance, running the latest games and applications smoothly. Available RAM configurations include 8GB, 12GB, and a massive 16GB paired with UFS 3.1 storage options ranging from 128GB to 256GB, which sadly are not expandable due to the lack of a microSD card slot. The phone originally launched with Android 11, but it is upgradable to Android 13 with ROG UI, providing a clean and responsive user experience while including gaming-centric features.
