Performance
Under the hood, the Transformer Prime is powered by the Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset, which includes a Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU and a ULP GeForce GPU. This combination gave the tablet commendable performance for applications ranging from gaming to HD video playback. The device originally shipped with Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) but could be upgraded to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), which introduced users to a host of new features and improvements in performance. With 1GB of RAM, multitasking capabilities were fair, though not as fluid as devices with higher memory capacities. The 32GB or 64GB storage options, supplemented by a dedicated microSDHC slot, offered plenty of space for apps, media, and documents.
