Under the hood, the Zenfone 6 was powered by an Intel Atom Z2560 chipset and a dual-core 1.6 GHz processor, paired with a PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU. This configuration was adequate for the typical tasks of its time, such as browsing, media playback, and light gaming. The device originally ran Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, upgradable to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, which brought improvements in performance and UI design. The phone came in two storage variations, 16GB and 32GB, both featuring 2GB of RAM. Storage was further expandable via a dedicated microSDXC slot.
