Design and Display
The AT&T 8525 comes in a solid body with dimensions of 113 x 58 x 22 mm and a weight of 176 grams, making it quite hefty by modern standards but pretty standard for its era. It's crafted with a focus on functionality, indicated by its physical QWERTY keyboard, which slides out to provide users with a convenient typing experience, a feature greatly appreciated for email and text-based communications.
The front is dominated by a 2.8-inch TFT resistive touchscreen that supports 65K colors. The resolution of 240 x 320 pixels provides a pixel density of roughly 143 ppi, which, while modest by today's standards, was typical for devices at the time. Despite the smaller screen-to-body ratio of about 37%, the display was considered adequate for online browsing and reading documents, aided by the device's handwriting recognition capabilities.
