Connectivity & Features
The TWIG Discovery Pro operated on GSM networks, supporting 2G bands common at the time. While it did not support EDGE or WLAN, it offered GPRS for basic data connectivity, allowing users to navigate the web via a WAP 2.0/xHTML browser. The inclusion of Bluetooth allowed for some modern wireless communication, although no standard 3.5mm headphone jack was provided, limiting audio accessory compatibility.
One of its standout features was the inclusion of GPS, which aligned with Benefon’s history of developing phones equipped with navigational capabilities. This positioning feature set it apart from many other phones of the time that lacked integrated GPS. However, the lack of a loudspeaker and FM radio indicated a focus less on multimedia entertainment and more on utilitarian, navigational functionality.
