Connectivity and Features
Connectivity on the BenQ M220 was straightforward, reflecting the era's technology constraints. It supported GSM networks in the 900/1800/1900 MHz bands and offered GPRS Class 10, making it capable of basic mobile Internet services. However, it had no EDGE, Bluetooth, WLAN, or GPS capabilities, which restricted its functionality. The proprietary USB connection and FM radio provided minimal expansion and entertainment options.
The phone did support basic messaging with SMS, EMS, and MMS capability, and a simple WAP 2.0/xHTML browser was available for accessing the mobile Internet. For entertainment, users could enjoy pre-installed games such as Eda Mouse and Cherry Boy, but the device did not support Java applications, limiting any addition of new apps or games.
