Network-wise, the Bird M11 was restricted to GSM technology, supporting 2G bands of 900, 1800, and 1900. While it supported GPRS for basic data connection, it did not include EDGE, limiting its internet speed even further. Communication features also included the ability to send SMS and MMS messages, along with a WAP 2.0 browser for rudimentary browsing. The inclusion of polyphonic ringtones and vibration alerts suited basic notification needs, though it lacked a loudspeaker or 3.5mm audio jack for external sound.
