Connectivity and Features
When examining the connectivity options, the Ericsson PF 768 was limited compared to today's standards. Operating on GSM 1800 technology, it provided 2G cellular connectivity, which was more than sufficient for voice calls and SMS messaging in the late '90s. However, features like GPRS, EDGE, WLAN, Bluetooth, and radio were absent, reflecting the early stage of mobile technology development.
This phone offered basic messaging capabilities with support for SMS, but it lacked a browser, positioning systems like GPS, and even a USB port for connectivity with a computer. The absence of a camera also marked it as a device strictly for communication rather than multimedia purposes.
