Features and Functionality
Though limited by today's measures, the Ericsson T20e offered a suite of features that met basic mobile needs at the time. It operated on GSM 2G bands (900/1800), which provided decent coverage for voice calls, the primary use of mobile phones back then. Lacking data capabilities like GPRS or EDGE, it was purely a telephony and SMS device.
In terms of memory, the phone stored up to 10 received, dialed, and missed calls, while also providing a set of SMS templates for quick messaging. Despite the absence of an expandable memory card slot, these features were adequate for casual users.
The T20e did not include a camera, Bluetooth, or any form of positioning services – features that were rare or just emerging at the time and only available in more advanced devices. Its communication capabilities were basic, with WAP browser support offering limited internet access with enhanced security features, though far from the browsing experiences of today.
