Features and Functionality
The Ericsson T39 offers a selection of utilitarian features aligned with the era’s technology. With a phonebook capacity of 510 entries, it surpassed many competitors in contact storage. The call log capability allowed users to track the last 10 received, dialed, and missed calls, which added a level of convenience in communications management. In terms of messaging, it supported SMS and email, facilitated by a WAP 1.2.1 browser, which was quite innovative for checking emails on-the-go in its time.
Despite its lack of a camera, radio, or USB connectivity, the T39 doesn’t compromise on essential functions, such as a clock, alarm, and even a few pre-installed games for entertainment. The inclusion of downloadable monophonic ringtones and a tone composer provided a hint of personalization, while the predictive text input streamlined the messaging process. Supporting 37 languages, it was versatile in catering to a global user base.
