With a 2.8-inch TFT resistive touchscreen, the M700 offered a display capable of showing 65,000 colors. Although the screen-to-body ratio of 35% and pixel density of roughly 143 ppi may seem minimal today, it was reasonable for its time, providing clear visibility under many conditions. Unlike capacitive screens, the resistive display allows for handwriting recognition, making it useful for note-taking and other personal input applications despite its limitations in touch responsiveness.
