Under the hood, the Gigabyte GSmart Essence is powered by a Spreadtrum SC7731 chipset coupled with a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor and a Mali-400 GPU. While the phone's 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage may seem restrictive by today's standards, they were enough for ordinary use cases such as calling, messaging, and light app usage in its era. Fortunately, the device includes a dedicated microSDHC slot, offering users the opportunity to expand storage to accommodate more apps and media files.
Operating on Android 4.4 (KitKat), the phone provided access to many essential Android features despite the dated operating system. However, the software's age means that modern app compatibility and security could be significant concerns for current users.
