Performance
Under the hood, the Honor V8 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 skin on top. There are two chipset options: the Kirin 950 for the KNT-AL10 and KNT-TL10 models, and the slightly upgraded Kirin 955 for the KNT-AL20 model. Both chipsets utilize an octa-core CPU comprising four Cortex-A72 cores for performance-intensive tasks and four Cortex-A53 cores for efficiency. Coupled with a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU, the V8 handles everyday tasks and moderate gaming with ease.
The device comes with 4GB of RAM, which ensures smooth multitasking, and offers internal storage options of 32GB or 64GB, depending on the model. Storage can be expanded via the microSDXC slot, although it uses the second SIM slot, which requires some compromise if dual-sim functionality is necessary.
