Performance and Software
Under the hood, the HP 8 runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, an older version of Android that may not support some of the latest apps and features. Powered by a quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A7 processor with an Allwinner A31 chipset, the device is designed for basic usage such as browsing, social media, and lightweight apps. With 1GB of RAM, multitasking and running heavier applications may result in some sluggishness. The inclusion of a microSDHC slot allows for storage expansion beyond the internal 16GB, a necessary feature given the modest internal storage.
