Performance and Software
Under the hood, the HTC Desire 820 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset with an octa-core CPU split between a 1.5 GHz and 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 cluster. Paired with 2GB of RAM, it offered commendable performance for multitasking and standard applications, albeit with some slowdown under heavier loads. The device originally shipped with Android 4.4.2 KitKat but was able to be upgraded to Android Marshmallow 6.1, coupled with HTC's Sense UI 7 for an enhanced user experience that added usability features.
