The design of the HTC Legend was groundbreaking at the time due to its aluminum unibody, which provided a premium feel and sturdy build. The dimensions (112 x 56.3 x 11.5 mm) and weight (126 g) contributed to its comfortable ergonomics, making it easy to handle. The addition of a unique optical trackpad was an interesting choice, offering a different navigation experience compared to the typical touchscreen use.
