Under the hood, the Huawei Ascend G628 was anticipated to run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Huawei's EMUI 2.3 skin. It was equipped with a Mediatek MT6752 chipset, featuring an octa-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 processor and Mali-T760 GPU. While not groundbreaking, this hardware combination was adequate for daily tasks including social networking, lightweight apps, and multitasking, which would have suited average users or those new to smartphones.
