Performance
Under the hood, the Ascend Y is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7625A Snapdragon S1 chipset with an 800 MHz Cortex-A5 CPU, and an Adreno 200 GPU. Paired with 256MB of RAM, the performance is admittedly meager, especially compared to even today's most basic smartphones. The phone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, offering the essential Android experience at the time, but it may struggle with multitasking or running more demanding applications. The internal storage is only 120MB, but it does come with a 2GB microSD card, providing essential storage expansion, a critical feature for users who want to store media or additional apps.
