Performance and Software

Under the hood, the MediaPad is powered by the Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon S3 chipset. This chipset features a dual-core 1.2 GHz Scorpion CPU paired with an Adreno 220 GPU, delivering moderate performance sufficient for basic multitasking and media playback. The device originally launched with Android 3.2 Honeycomb but is upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which extends its functionality and app compatibility. With 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, the MediaPad offers limited, but adequate resources for light tasks, with the option to expand via the microSDHC slot for additional storage needs.
