The Huawei U7520 supported various forms of messaging, including SMS, MMS, email, and IM, aided by a WAP 2.0/xHTML and HTML browser for internet services. Limited in scope, the device nevertheless included a basic accelerometer sensor and the ability to run Java MIDP 2.0 applications and games, keeping it perfectly in sync with utility and entertainment requirements typical of the time.
