Under the hood, the Huawei U8220 runs on Android 1.5 Cupcake. This version of Android introduced onscreen keyboards and third-party app widgets - a novelty back then. With an internal storage of 192MB, it supports microSDHC cards for additional memory, which is essential given the limited onboard storage. While the performance may struggle with today's demands, it was adequate for basic tasks such as calling, texting, and browsing at the time.
