Under the hood, the LG G Pad 8.0 LTE is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8926 Snapdragon 400 chipset, with a quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU and an Adreno 305 GPU. The hardware configuration was standard for mid-range devices at its release. Coupled with 1GB of RAM, the tablet handled everyday tasks with relative ease, though it struggled with more demanding applications and multitasking. Originally launching with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the G Pad 8.0 was upgradable to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, offering a slightly fresher user interface and functionality, though missing out on many modern features provided by later Android versions.
