Design and Build
The LG G5 distinguished itself with an innovative modular design. Featuring a detachable bottom, it allowed users to swap out its battery and use various add-on accessories, called "Friends," such as a camera grip or a hi-fi audio module. This was a unique selling proposition, though it didn't quite catch on in the broader market. In terms of aesthetics, the phone sports an aluminum unibody that feels premium, enhanced by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 front for added durability. With dimensions of 149.4 x 73.9 x 7.7 mm and a weight of 159 grams, it was relatively compact and easy to handle for a smartphone from 2016.
