Focused on basics, the LG MG160 lacks many of the modern connectivity options. It operates on GSM 2G networks, covering bands 900/1800 and 850/1900 for the American version, which facilitated decent connectivity for calls and SMS, the primary functionalities it offers. There's no GPRS or EDGE support, as the phone does not venture into mobile data territory extensively. Users have access to a WAP browser, useful for rudimentary internet access, mostly text-based.
Memory caps include storing up to 300 phonebook entries and tracking recent call records for numbers dialed, received, and missed, each capped at 40 entries. The absence of a card slot aligns with the memory usage typical of the time, focused entirely on contact storage.
