Design and Build
The LG U880 has a compact and sleek design representative of its time. Its dimensions of 98.8 x 49 x 18.2 mm and weight of 99 grams make it a lightweight device that fits comfortably in the hand. The clamshell design is complemented by rounded edges, giving it a smooth appearance. The phone was available in four colors: glossy black, matt black, silver, and pink, allowing for a degree of customization that could appeal to different users' tastes.
The device was equipped with a dual-display setup, which was a popular feature in clamshell designs. The primary internal display is a 2-inch TFT screen capable of showing 256K colors at a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. While the screen-to-body ratio was around 26%, it was sufficient for its multimedia content and text-based applications of its time. The external display is smaller, with 65K colors and a resolution of 96 x 96 pixels, which provided essential information like time, date, and caller ID without opening the phone.
