Running on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread, the Micromax A84 is built on the Mediatek MT6575 chipset, housing a 1.0 GHz Cortex-A9 processor. This combination delivered acceptable performance for basic applications and day-to-day tasks, but users may find it straining under more demanding apps or multitasking scenarios. The use of the PowerVR SGX531 GPU allowed for casual gaming, although it wouldn't support more intensive graphics.
