Running on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread, the Micromax A44 is powered by a Mediatek MT6513 chipset coupled with an 800 MHz Cortex-A9 CPU. Its graphical performance is driven by the PowerVR SGX531 GPU. Though these specifications were entry-level even at launch, they were adequate for running basic apps and services available on the Gingerbread platform. The device provided 512MB of RAM, which constrained multitasking capabilities but was typical for budget phones at the time.
