Performance and Software
Operating on Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1, the Lumia 640 was upgradable to Windows 10, providing an integrated and updated software experience from Microsoft. At the heart of the device is the Qualcomm MSM8926 Snapdragon 400 chipset paired with a quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU and an Adreno 305 GPU. While the 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage might seem modest today, there’s a dedicated microSDXC slot to expand storage for additional apps, media, and documents, which was quite generous for mid-range smartphones at the time of release.
