Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Lumia 950 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, featuring a hexa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores and two Cortex-A57 cores. This setup, alongside 3GB of RAM, provides adequate performance, but it's not the cutting-edge experience found in rival devices of its time. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 418 GPU, which supports smooth multimedia playback and casual gaming. One of the unique aspects of the Lumia 950 is its use of the Microsoft Windows 10 Mobile OS. While innovative in attempting to create a unified ecosystem with Windows PCs, the operating system faced an uphill battle against the more mature app ecosystems of iOS and Android. Windows 10 Mobile did, however, bring unique features such as Microsoft Continuum, allowing the phone to transform into a PC-like experience when connected to an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
