Performance
Operating on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and upgradable to 2.3 (Gingerbread), the DROID 2 Global was powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex-A8 CPU with a TI OMAP 3640 chipset and a PowerVR SGX530 GPU, providing a smooth performance for day-to-day tasks and light gaming. Although its 512MB RAM seems minuscule today, it handled multi-tasking reasonably well in the context of 2010 standards. It came equipped with 8GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSDHC slot, which included another 8GB card, meeting the needs of most users for apps and media storage at the time.
