The camera setup on the Moto Maxx consisted of a single 21 MP main camera with autofocus, which was impressive in 2014. It offered features such as dual-LED flash, panorama, and HDR, allowing for versatile shooting conditions. The camera could capture video in 4K resolution at 24fps, as well as 1080p at 30fps, delivering high-quality footage. The 2 MP front camera, capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps, might not compare favorably to modern standards but was adequate for video calls and basic selfies during its time.
