Powered by a Qualcomm MSM7227-1 Snapdragon S1 chipset with a 600 MHz ARM 11 CPU and an Adreno 200 GPU, the XT316 does not boast impressive performance by current industry standards. However, for its time, it provided adequate processing power for fundamental smartphone functions such as browsing the web and running simple applications. The device shipped with Android 2.2 (Froyo) but could be upgraded to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), allowing users access to slightly more advanced features and apps. Although limited, its internal storage of 512MB and 256MB RAM could be expanded via a dedicated microSDHC slot.
