Design and Display
The Motorola ROKR E8 is characterized by its sleek and modern design, especially for its time. With dimensions of 115 x 53 x 10.6 mm and weighing just 100 grams, it was notably slim and lightweight. This made it a very portable device, easy to carry in pockets and bags. The device's aesthetic appeal was enhanced by its unique ModeShift morphing keypad that allowed the interface to change according to the mode—either phone or music player—which was a novel feature back then. The phone's body is available in Dark Navy and Platinum, lending it a touch of elegance.
The ROKR E8 sports a 2.0-inch TFT display capable of showing 256K colors, supporting a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. While the 20.3% screen-to-body ratio might seem limited by today's standards, it offered sufficient clarity and vibrancy for basic multimedia viewing and navigation.
