Design and Display
The design of the Motorola V501 is compact and utilitarian. Its dimensions, measuring 89 x 46 x 23.6 mm and weighing just 113 grams, made it a pocket-friendly device, ideal for those who preferred a lightweight and portable phone. The clamshell design was iconic during its release, offering a sense of nostalgia today. The main display featured a TFT screen with 65K colors and a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels, which was standard for the time. Additionally, it included a second, smaller monochrome display on the exterior. This 96 x 32-pixel screen provided basic information like caller ID and notifications without needing to open the phone.
