Under the hood, the XOOM 2 Media Edition is powered by a TI OMAP 4430 chipset, featuring a dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 processor and PowerVR SGX540 GPU. It originally ran on Android 3.2 Honeycomb, but could be upgraded to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, which was a significant enhancement in terms of user interface and application support. With 1GB of RAM and options for 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, it provided adequate performance for everyday tasks and media playback, though it may struggle with more demanding applications or multitasking by today's standards.
