Sound on the NEC N109 is rather basic, with no loudspeaker provided and no 3.5mm audio jack, thus limiting the ways in which users can listen to music or other audio without additional accessories. The phone supports vibration alerts and downloadable polyphonic ringtones, with a composer feature allowing further customization of ringtones.
