Design and Build
The NEC N500i is a compact device, measuring 93 x 46 x 25 mm and weighing only 99 grams, making it easily portable and comfortable to hold. Its small size is due to the clamshell design, which was popular at the time for protecting the keypad and screen when not in use. The phone features a Mini-SIM slot, a standard for devices of its generation. Although it doesn't boast a metal frame or premium materials seen in modern smartphones, its black color and straightforward design ensure an understated, classic aesthetic.
