For photography, the Nokia 500 is equipped with a single 5 MP camera on the back, capable of recording video at 480p@15fps. Though lacking a front-facing selfie camera, the main camera is satisfactory for snapshots given the phone's target audience and timeframe. Image quality in the daylight is suitable for casual photography, but low-light conditions present obvious limitations.
