Performance and Software
Running on the Symbian^3 OS, which could be upgraded to Nokia Belle Refresh, the Nokia N8 is powered by a 680 MHz ARM 11 CPU and a Broadcom GPU. While this hardware might seem underwhelming today, it effectively handled basic smartphone tasks such as calling, messaging, and browsing. With 256MB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSDHC), the N8 offered adequate space for apps and media files, although multitasking could sometimes strain its resources. The software also featured Ovi Maps 3.0, ensuring excellent navigation and location services.
