Powered by an Intel XScale PXA 270 processor clocked at 620 MHz, the XDA Atom Life was quite capable for its time. The device runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 PocketPC, a predecessor to the modern smartphone operating systems, which offered a suite of productivity tools like Pocket Office, enabling users to handle files such as Word and Excel. Internal memory includes 1GB of ROM and 64MB of RAM, supported by miniSD card expandability—a necessity given the limited internal storage.
