Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Orange Tahiti is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon S3 chipset with a dual-core 1.2 GHz Scorpion CPU and an Adreno 220 GPU. These components were well-regarded in 2012, providing the necessary punch for most applications available then. However, with only 512MB of RAM, multitasking is limited. The 8GB internal storage can be expanded via the dedicated microSDHC slot, an essential feature for users storing extensive media collections.

Running on Android 3.2 Honeycomb, the device captures the early essence of Android tablet experiences. This operating system was dedicated to tablets, offering widget support and connectivity options that suit a larger display. While it doesn’t facilitate modern app requirements, it was functional for typical use during its time.
