Running on the Palm OS 5.4.9, the Centro was powered by a 32-bit Intel XScale PXA270 processor clocked at 312 MHz. This combination provided sufficient performance for the tasks that were typical in 2008, such as calendar management, note-taking, and basic web browsing. The Palm OS was well-known for its ease of use and productivity-oriented applications, which contributed greatly to the phone’s appeal. Additionally, with a built-in document editor supporting Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files, the Centro was positioned as a viable option for business users during that era.
