Palm Pixi Design and Build

Design and Build

The Palm Pixi's design reflects a minimalist philosophy, with its compact dimensions of 111 x 55 x 10.9 mm and a weight of just 99.5 g. This made it one of the lighter smartphones of its time, enhancing portability and easy one-handed use. The physical QWERTY keyboard was a notable feature, providing tactile feedback that was appreciated by users who preferred traditional typing methods over virtual keyboards.

The screen of the Pixi measured 2.63 inches, which was quite small by modern standards, offering a screen-to-body ratio of around 35.7%. The display, with a resolution of 320 x 400 pixels and capable of showing 256K colors, was fairly standard for its time, ensuring that users had clear enough visuals for basic tasks, though it was not designed for media-heavy usage.
